The next big thing in McKinleyville now has a name.

Life Plan Humboldt asked the Humboldt community to help name its first nonprofit senior community. Hundreds of your neighbors, friends, and future residents shared ideas that reflect what the North Coast values most: local connection, nature, simplicity, sustainability, and community.

Humboldt Commons

Aging Well ~ Together

What is Humboldt Commons?

Humboldt Commons is a one-of-a-kind 62+ community created by Humboldt, for Humboldt. Designed with sustainability, active aging, and deep community connections in mind, this will be a place where neighbors support neighbors—whether that’s through Friday night potlucks, garden clubs, or simply sharing a hike on the nearby trails.

Humboldt Commons’ Community Features

  • A walkable and bikeable lifestyle with easy access to farmer’s markets, beaches, and the McKinleyville Town Center
  • A thriving arts and music culture, with resident-led clubs and events
  • Pet-friendly policies — because our furry companions are family, too

Thank you for being part of something bigger!

Humboldt Commons is a project in design and development. The Future Residents List will start soon.
